For my birthday, Chris gave me the option of going to St. Louis to go to a Cardinals game and see the arch or to go to San Antonio to go to the Alamo and river walk… well I chose SAN ANTONIO!!!! I have been there multiple times and have always loved it. Since Chris had not been there I was excited to show him all around and get to have a relaxing vacation with him before the craziness of being a first year teacher and a wedding photographer started up! The only week we could go happened to be the same week our best friends, Christopher and Nancy Nolan, were there which was awesome. We left the house right after sunrise and headed for Texas. Along the way we stopped at In-and Out Burger because I have always wanted to try it, and it was delicious!! We even stopped for coffee and they gave us a free mixed berry pie that was the perfect dessert. I absolutely love that Chris can be spontaneous, especially on this trip. When we came into Dallas he wanted to stop and take a picture of us downtown. After driving around for a few minutes we found the perfect location for a quick shoot. The pictures turned out pretty killer!! Our first night we stayed with Chris’s cousin Cliff and his little boy Lance. Cliff cooked for us while we played soccer with Lance. It was such a relaxing night with his family which was much needed after driving all day. That next morning we got up and went to the market and had lunch at La Margarita, cause I was in the mood for a good margarita. Well they lived up to their name because that was the BEST margarita I’ve ever had! We even had a love song played to us! Lol. We both love history so The Alamo was definitely our next stop. We enjoyed going through and reading all about it and taking a few pictures. We then met up with Christopher and Nancy for some ice cream and a walk around the city. We all loved going into the old antique mall and looking at all the different things in there. Finally we were able to check into our hotel and let’s just say this place was SUPER nice!! We were in awe and so happy we decided to stay there. It was right on the river walk which was perfect and our balcony overlooked the river walk as well. Instead of having buttons inside the elevators, you pressed the touch pad to what floor you were on and a car opened up and took you straight there.. seriously so cool!! Our room was absolutely gorgeous too!! Our first day ended with a trip to Lukenbach, Texas curtsey of Chris and his need to go to the city Willie and Waylon sing about. I knew we would have to go there and I wasn’t very excited about it but Christopher and Nancy went with us which was a plus and when we got there I fell in love. It is seriously just the coolest place ever. They have live bands every day and it’s just a good ole’ country place. None of us wanted to leave when they closed. The next day we woke up, went shopping, and walked the river walk. Chris and I did a photo shoot of each other which was a lot of fun!! It was so nice just to walk along the river and relax. We ended the day at the Tower of America’s which overlooked all of San Antonio. It was so pretty up there, especially at sunset! Our last full day in San Antonio we went shopping..again.. for an outfit to wear for our photo shoot with the Nolan’s that night. It is so nice to have best friends that are professional photographers!! It was so much fun having pictures taken of us in San Antonio and taking pictures of Christopher and Nancy. I LOVE how they all turned out and thought Chris and I looked pretty dang good! Sad to leave, but ready to be home, we packed our bags and headed to Dallas for a wedding consultation.. yep, you read that right! We got an e-mail from a bride on our way to San Antonio and decided just to giver her a call instead of e-mailing back. We chatted for a bit and she was telling us about how she lived in Dallas. Little did she know that we were in Texas that week which was perfect timing. So we made a plan to meet on the way home and we are so glad we did. She was such a fun and sweet bride and we are so happy she booked us as her photographers. We asked her is there were any good restaurants in Dallas and she suggested Eno’s, which is located in the Bishop Arts District and it is such a cool neighborhood. Eno’s is a pizza place and it was SO good. Definitely worth the drive if we want to go back!! We even stopped into a flower shop before heading back home and bought some gorgeous succulents for the house. We could have spent all day in that flower shop. Overall out trip was amazing, but it was nice to be back home! As you are looking through the pictures keep in mind that these were ALL taken with our film cameras.. can you tell we are LOVING film these days!! Enjoy!
